Membership, Retail & Café EPOS Software

Comunn Eachdraidh Nis is a community-run heritage trust dedicated to preserving and sharing the history, language, and cultural traditions of North Lewis. Established in 1977 as the first historical society of its kind in the Outer Hebrides, it continues to safeguard local stories, archives, and material heritage for residents and visitors alike.

Based in a former school building on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, the Society operates an accredited museum and heritage centre exploring crofting, fishing, weaving, maritime history, and Gaelic culture. Its collections include nationally significant artefacts such as the Rona Cross and exhibitions connected to the Butt of Lewis Lighthouse alongside local wartime and community history.

Alongside exhibitions, the Society maintains extensive archives of photographs, documents, genealogical records, and oral histories that support research and family history. With welcoming visitor facilities including a café, gift shop, and research access, it provides a space where heritage, learning, and community connection come together while sustaining the cultural identity of North Lewis.
